My second Game

hi everyone , sorry for not updating the blog for the last couple of days i am in midterm exams actually .
Introducing my second game here so people can see it and tell me what they think, i used direcx10 , physx engine and c++ to make this game , it was my first experience with directx at all (i never used dx_9) and it was an excellent experience actually full of challenges and creativity , we (me and my team) used shaders included in directx 10 sdk ,nvidia sdk 10, and nvidia physx engine which we only used to make collision detection as we didn`t have time for any other physx.
We took shaders from the sdks but we understood it and tweaked it to give us maximum FPS (60) as there were a lot of shader to exhaustive even for a card like nvidia 9600_gt.

Actually the hardest part was the lack of books and documentation for directx 10 , although it was introduced in 2006 but the market still lags good tutorials or books for it and this gave us a hard time understanding it.
I was thinking seriously about making tutorials in directx 10 with c++ so that ppl wanna use it have a good starting point from a view of someone that started from scratch in directx 10 without previous knowledge in directx.
please tell me what you think and if you want me to make these tutorials coz it will take a lot of effort and so i wanna know if people will benefit from it or not.

Intel VS Nvidia

Hi all , this is my third post in this blog and i hope u like it , Since this conflict has been going around between nvidia and intel for sometime now and many people haven`t heard of it , i said to myself i should bring it up so that the war between the companies become more public and people start to see the future of integration between nvidia and intel.

This start 2004 where nvidia and intel made an agreement in order to bring platform innovations to Intel CPU based systems.
In return, Intel took a license to NVIDIA’s rich portfolio of 3D, GPU, and other computing patents
and since then nvidia introduced new technologies as SLI, CUDA for parallel processing , ION which integrates full north and south bridge into one compact die.

February 16/09 Intel filed a suit against nvidia stating that this agreement doesn`t include the new future generation CPUs with “integrated” memory controllers such as nehalem (including core i7 and next gen. that uses quick path instead of FSB).
So due to successfull and frequent innovations from nvidia intel is now afraid that it can`t control the PC market since that even the ION platform made by nvidia runs 10x faster than intel`s solution.

MARCH 26/09 Nvidia filed a countersuit in order to terminate the liscence for intel to access its patents and rich portfolio in respond to intel`s suit.

So end of line , i think this agreement will terminate although NVIDIA has been attempting to resolve the disagreement with Intel in a fair and reasonable manner for over a year.
AND with intel`s larrabe and their new generations of graphic processors,i think they will try to introduce the market to full intel platforms that don`t need nvidia solutions for gpu.
And with nvidia programming the gpu to do generic programming not exclusive to graphics may introduce also a complete platform not including intel , since AMD and ATI have made their way together , this may be a green light for them to start working on good platforms and even take over a greater share of the market.
This Maybe a new era of system platforms , and i don`t think in a year or so that we will see intel and nvidia on every game we play, i mean maybe one of them but not both.
